Hey Everyone!
This week I focused on improving cloth sims, redesigning the particle system to be faster and better, and worked on the level editor. Here's this week's dev vlog showing all that in game:
This week I'm focusing on redesigning how objects, cloth, and particles collide, which will allow me to have more creative control over environmental effects, like rain, snow, fog, ash, etc... while also setting a strong foundation to build other physics based gameplay on.
I'd like to share my thoughts on development progress so far.
It's exciting to see all these systems working so well with one another, and I'm very interested to see what kinds of improvements the next few weeks worth of work will bring. After the foundation is solid, I will return to designing and building levels, and linking them to districts, to form the challenging gameplay. All of the levels for the early access release are sketched out on paper and ready to be created in game, using that fun and easy level editor showcased in the video above. So, I can see exactly what needs to be done over the next few months, and based on that perspective I think I'm progressing well on the development timeline. I really want to make the cloth and fabric gameplay as unique and fun as I can, so I believe my time is well spent making these systems faster, more responsive, and able to handle larger scales than what Lazr's Demo showcased. The experiences those types of systems can produce is the type of creative power I'm looking for. Lazr is going to be amazing. There's so many wild things on the horizon...

Hey Everyone!
This weeks update is huge. I spent two days putting it together, it's almost 10 minutes in length, and talks about the 5 districts that are designed so far. Check it out here:
There was a ton of work done this week, so today I'm taking a break and taking care of family and other important stuff, like washing dogs and meal prep. :)
I also want to share some hi-res art of the districts, so you can set them as your wallpaper on computer or phone. These posters/images aren't finished yet, they're still in development, so the final art will change and hopefully be even better. See you next week! //Garrick
